Everybody in our team in Vadodara, India was delighted to recently receive a special memento from the local charity, Happy Faces.
Having donated £500 of the funds raised by our colleague, Connor, who completed the Rickshaw Run in September last year, the charity got in touch with us to present a commemorative shield as a token of appreciation for our support.
And of course, our team in Vadodara were only too pleased to receive the memento and display it at our India office.
Happy Faces is based in Vadodara and runs several charitable schemes in the city, including:
- Providing underprivileged local children with nutrition kits containing warm milk every Monday.
- Feeding hundreds of dogs in Vadodara every day.
- Arranging medical camps and aid for local people who need help.
- Running two educational centres that offer tuition to more than 150 children.
Andrew Bohnet, our Global Solutions Architect and Founder, said: “Our team in Vadodara were pleased to receive the memento from Happy Faces following our recent donation, which we know will help to support the incredible work it carries out in the city.
“As a business, we strive to be supportive of any colleague who wishes to raise money for charity, especially if it will be used to make a difference in any of the local communities in which we are based across the world.
“I would like to once again congratulate Connor on his remarkable achievement in completing the Rickshaw Run last year – and I look forward to seeing which charitable challenge one of our team of Innovators will tackle next.”
Connor’s charity trek raised a total of £1,400 and, in addition to the funds donated to Happy Faces, he pledged £500 to Cool Earth; a UK-based organisation that works to protect endangered rainforests.
The remaining money was split between a number of good causes in India that were founded by two friends.
