Three weeks on from hosting our second Tax Professionals’ Breakfast Symposium in Amsterdam, we are still buzzing from the incredible energy in the room.
Following hot on the heels of our debut symposium in London earlier this year, we gathered an exceptional group of industry peers and visionaries at Sofitel Legend The Grand in the heart of the city for a morning of connection, learning, and insight.
Having been humbled by the fantastic feedback received after our London event, our team was determined to keep the momentum going.
But it was also important to us to keep things very similar in terms of scale.
That’s because we intentionally designed the Tax Professionals’ Breakfast Symposium to be small and intimate, capping the guest list in Amsterdam at just 16 seats to ensure a cosy, relaxed environment in which real conversation could develop.
We’re thrilled to say every one of the 16 seats available was filled by a tax or finance leader with a unique story to share.
The agenda was led by our Global Solutions Architect, Andrew Bohnet – the world’s only Oracle ACE for indirect tax and the brains behind many of our award-winning tax technology software and solutions. He was supported by three extra members of our team.
Andrew guided the room through a masterclass in advanced learning and development, swapping rigid corporate slides for live, actionable insights into the twists and turns of shifting global tax regulations.
We were also supported by special guest speaker, Jenny Nittmann, founder and Managing Director at Nitt & Huff, who provided key insights on the latest from the world of compliance and her take on current market trends.
Our agenda explored all the essential topics of the day; from e-invoicingElectronic invoicing - widely referred to as e-invoicing - is the exchange of a digital document between a supplier and a buyer. E-invoices are issued, transmitted and received in a structured data format that enabled automatic and electronic processing. They contain data in a machine-readable format so that an AP system can read an invoice without manual data entry, leading to faster and more efficient invoicing. mandate adoption and solution implementation, through to global tax determination best practice, master data management, and compliance roadmapping.
Because of the open roundtable setup, this wasn’t just a presentation; it quickly evolved into a collaborative think-tank. Our guests openly shared their own operational hurdles, mapping out real-world data strategies over coffee and croissants.
Having a small-group environment meant we could dig into the kind of highly specific, nuanced tax and compliance questions that you simply can’t cover in a busy exhibition hall at a global conference.
While it is always tough having to limit spaces, maintaining that strict seating capacity is precisely what preserves the rare privacy and deep educational value that makes these mornings so impactful.
