Role Purpose

An exciting new position has arisen for a Finance Manager/Financial Controller based in our Bognor Regis Headquarters to oversee the day-to-day group finance operations – including overseas branch finances – whilst providing support to the Board of Directors. In this ‘hands on’ and varied role, the postholder will also be responsible for the line management and mentorship of a full time Finance Assistant. This is a pivotal role, offering the right candidate the opportunity to benefit from significant continued professional development and progression within a growing international business.

Key Duties

You will be responsible for:

  • Monthly accounts review and preparation (including developing project-based MI), including cashflow forecasting
  • Supporting and monitoring all statutory compliance (including R&D returns) for the companies within the group 
  • Preparation and review of annual budgets – in liaison with the Board of Directors 
  • Oversee the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable (including Credit Control) functions of the business
  • Monitor and track sales targets and commissions payable
  • Prepare the UK payroll (QuickBooks) for review
  • Prepare VAT returns
  • Take responsibility for the finance function of the Indian entity, with support from an external accountancy firm based in India, tasks including:
    • Monthly bookkeeping
    • Bank reconciliations
    • Payroll review

 

Skills and Experience

  • Qualified Accountant – ACA (FCA) or ACCA (FCCA) (QBE considered with demonstration of relevant experience)
  • Experience of building and maintaining relationships with senior stakeholders
  • A well-developed approach to problem solving and decision making
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality
  • Strong IT skills, with experience of QuickBooks being ideal, but not essential
  • A team player with a ‘can-do attitude’ – also capable of autonomous working and self-motivation
  • The ability to develop enduring relationships of mutual trust with people
  • Understand the needs of the business
  • Ability to engage and influence senior leaders, providing them with succinct and impactful information (written and verbal) to support decision making
  • A team player who can operate in a fast-paced environment working to tight deadlines
  • A strong influencer and able to think out of the box
